Those who build the most popular apps on the company’s Galaxy Tab and Note products — as judged by user downloads — will receive awards ranging from $200,000 to $30,000. Devs who opt to create S Pen applications using Samsung’s SDK are eligible for the same range of cash prizes, but the judging will be done by a panel.

Additionally, Samsung promises “mega marketing support” for the best submitted apps, including mention in company press releases, social media channels, and even television and print advertisements. Hey, if it’s actually good software, it’ll only be in Samsung’s best interest to promote the heck out of it. The Smart App Challenge runs between now and September 30th.
