In addition to announcing that the company would be laying off 10,000 employees, Nokia revealed some better news: that its Windows Phones will soon be available through China Unicom, the country’s second largest carrier. Specifics regarding when the first batch of devices will roll out is currently unknown, but Nokia CEO Stephen Elop did imply that the Lumia 610 will be offered through the partnership. A variant of Nokia’s Lumia 800 is already being sold through third place carrier China Telecom, so it’s possible that it may cross over as well.
