Square has launched a digital loyalty card feature for its payment platform that allows merchants to reward returning customers with special offers, The New York Times reports. Square released updates today for its iPad register app and its Pay With Square app for iOS and Android, allowing merchants to give customers automatic discounts for returning to their store or award points on a digital punch card. The move keeps Square competitive with rivals like Visa, Mastercard, ISIS, and others, which have implemented or promised to implement loyalty programs for their mobile payment services. The program is available via Square’s updated apps, which are now available through the App Store and Google Play.
