Problems at the border might’ve delayed the HTC Evo 4G LTE’s journey to retail shelves, but the flagship device — currently our top smartphone pick on Sprint — is here, and Amazon Wireless is offering it for just $49.99. Unfortunately, the deal only applies to those signing a brand new two-year contract; upgrade-eligible customers can snag the handset for $149.99. And as is the norm with Amazon’s almost too-good-to-be-true discounts, you’ll be levied with a $250 charge (stacked on top of Sprint’s $350 early termination fee) if you cancel the agreement before completing 181 consecutive days of service. Still, for those confident in their purchase, we don’t see a better deal coming along in the immediate future. Unless you’re dead set on landing the rumored white model, you’ll want to take advantage of this offer sooner than later.
