Amazon will allegedly be adding social features to games for its Kindle Fire tablet, Bloomberg reports. The added functionality, not unlike Game Center found on Apple’s OS X and iOS devices, will include leaderboards and an achievement system. Amazon currently offers over 43,000 Android apps in its own Appstore, and the new service will add yet another differentiating feature from Google’s ecosystem. Recent reports revealed that the Kindle Fire accounts for a majority of the Android tablet market, a number that will surely be contested by Google’s recently announced, and equally priced, Asus Nexus 7. Development tools for the service are expected to be released in July.
