The Explorer may have never lifted off into the into the skies like so many other space shuttles (not even on the back of a 747 like the Enterprise), nor was it ever used to train NASA's finest astronauts, but it did take a nice unscathed boat ride across the Gulf of Mexico last week. The full-scale replica went on an eight-day trip from its previous residence at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex near Orlando, Florida to its new permanent home near the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.
