From today until July 30th, Barnes & Noble is again running its 50 percent discount on Criterion Collection movies. Both DVDs and Blu-rays are a part of the deal, though the savings don’t extend to pre-orders — sorry Royal Tenenbaums fans. Even so, it makes for a good time to pick up some classic films for considerably less than the usual going rate. A bevy of titles are available at $19.99, though you’ll still need to pay quite a bit more for some of the more deluxe collections in the Criterion stable. The 50 percent sale is valid both online and in B&N’s chain of retail locations so there are plenty of ways to any films that have been sorely missing from your library.
