Samsung today announced plans to bring a gesture-based version of Angry Birds to its smart TV platform. Samsung and Rovio have been working on the app since the end of last year, and will launch it globally sometime this month. According to the manufacturer, this version of Angry Birds incorporates the smart TV's motion recognition capabilities, allowing gamers to fling onscreen fowl with their hands. Launching shortly after the app is an Angry Birds animated series, which will be available on a video-on-demand basis. Samsung didn't offer a precise launch date or price for the game itself, though it will be available via the Samsung TV app store for anyone with an ES7000, ES8000, or ES9000 series smart TV.
