90 Seconds on The Verge: Tuesday July 17th, 2012

It’s a little more meta than usual today — probably because we’re a little more sleep-deprived than usual. Which is to say, we haven’t slept in days. The Verge office has some really good coffee, and for whatever reason Mariah Carey has become the backup musical selection when we run out of Carly Rae Jepsen remixes and covers. It’s hard to explain, bear with us.

A “technical error” has landed Microsoft back in hot water with the European Commission (again). Viacom puts The Daily Show back online just in time for Jon Stewart to get angry over Viacom. And as sure as the sun, The Wall Street Journal adds a new dimension to the iPhone display rumors. Pun intended. We’re sorry.

(PS, We’re beta testing Ooyala’s new video player — help us out!)
