A set of screenshots from an iOS 6 developer build left the strong impression that AT&T may be planning to charge extra for letting customers use Apple's FaceTime video-chatting service over a cellular connection — but it looks like Sprint won't be walking down that same path. A Sprint spokesperson recently told the Wall Street Journal that "We are committed to our unlimited data and that means not charging for data consumption based on the application." The comment comes in stark contrast to AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson's comments yesterday that "it's too early to talk about pricing" in connection with FaceTime.

Of course, it’s still not entirely clear just what restrictions AT&T will be placing on FaceTime calling, or what the additional fees — if any — will actually be. Still, with Sprint struggling behind both Verizon and AT&T, it’s clear that the carrier plans to use every bit of leverage it can to woo iPhone users into its ranks.
