Nokia’s Counters app launched in beta this week, more than a month after making its debut at Windows Phone Summit. The app, which was released in China last month, allows Lumia owners to keep track of their monthly calls, messages, and data usage, much like the Data Sense feature that will be included on Windows Phone 8. The app can also automatically reset its meters at the beginning of each billing cycle, and can break down your usage by contacts, giving you a better idea of which people you spend the most data on.

Because it’s still in beta, though, there are some lingering issues. Conference calls, for instance, are not properly accounted for, and it’s not possible to limit your data to fractional figures (i.e., a 1 GB limit is fine, 1.5 GB is not). There’s no notification system in place either, though Nokia says this feature will arrive at a later date.
