Jetpack Joyride, the hugely popular game from Halfbrick Studios, finally arrived on Android today, nearly a year after launching on iOS. For now, the game is only available through the Amazon App Store, meaning Android users will have to first download Amazon’s App Store app. It’s also worth mentioning that if you delete Amazon’s app after downloading Jetpack Joyride, you’ll no longer be able to play the game. As of yet, there’s no word on when the app may arrive on Google Play.

Nevertheless, today's arrival has been a long time coming for Jetpack Joyride, which was released on Facebook earlier this year, and will be coming to Blackberry 10 and the PlayBook, as well. It's not clear whether Halfbrick will release a tablet-optimized version of the game anytime soon, though Android Police reports that the app will run on a Transformer Pad 300, albeit with slightly "blocky" graphics.
