Facebook has announced that it’s stepping up efforts to keep its Pages free of fraudulent Likes. The social network says that its recently improved, automated system will remove Likes that were created via malware, compromised accounts, or purchased in bulk, as well as those that have been deemed to have been gained through deceived users. With the changes, less than one percent of Likes are expected to be removed from Pages, on average. “Facebook was built on the principle of real identity,” the company says, “and we want this same authenticity to extend to Pages.” Of course, this is just the latest effort from Facebook’s security team, whose job also entails hunting down likejackers, hackers, and spammers.
