Sure, you'd expect that the classic HTC HD2 would receive a version of Android 4.1, but the grandaddy of all Android devices? Age and underpowered specs weren't enough to stop the hacking group SoCal Devs from hacking together a semi-operational version for the HTC G1 and posting the details up on xda-developers. As you can see in the (gratuitously-soundtracked) video below, the G1 isn't exactly buttery in its performance, and the developers haven't gotten such essentials as cellular data working yet. With performance like this, we certainly can't recommend anybody install this on their main phone. Then again, if the G1 is still your main phone, you might be just crazy enough to try it anyway.
