Growl updated its desktop app to version 2.0 this week, adding support for Notification Center on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Growl 2.0, released Wednesday, uses Notification Center for visual alerts by default, meaning app developers won’t have to rewrite their code for Mountain Lion. The update also adds action display support for iOS apps Boxcar and Prowl, and separates visual displays from action displays, allowing apps to simultaneously launch both from within a single notification.
