After reaching a milestone of 20 billion app installations back in June, Google has announced that its digital storefront, Google Play, has passed 25 billion downloads with over 675,000 available apps and games. To commemorate the occasion, the company will be offering deals on apps, music, movies, and books over the next five days, including $0.25 games from Electronic Arts, Rovio, Gameloft, and others. This isn’t the first time Google has slashed prices during limited promotions — when the Android Market crossed 10 billion app downloads, the company offered top-tier Android games at $0.10 a pop, and in March, when the service was rebranded, select apps were dropped to $0.49. More details about Google’s five days of discounts are expected to be revealed later today and throughout the week.
