The Wi-Fi models of Sony’s Xperia Tablet S are now shipping in the UK, just over a week after the device’s announcement at IFA 2012 in Berlin. The tablet, which runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, is priced at £329 ($525) for the model with 16GB of internal storage, with the 32GB variant running to £379 ($604). The 3G version is currently only available for pre-order for a hefty £429 ($684). As Android Central points out, the cheapest model undercuts Apple’s third-generation iPad by £70 ($112) — whether this will help the device become more of a success than the ill-fated Tablet S remains to be seen.
