After a grand unveiling by Microsoft back at the Windows Phone 8 launch, Samsung’s latest device was supposed to launch in December. The company officially unveiled the full specifications and look of the device today, ahead of a release in the “coming weeks.” With a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and 5-megapixel camera, it’s not at the high-end of Windows Phone 8.

Surprisingly though, Samsung’s Ativ Odyssey has a fast 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor and a 2,100 mAh battery. Looking at the device today at CES, it feels super small and lightweight. The typical Samsung Windows Phone 8 apps are present, much like its bigger brother the Ativ S. Overall it’s a fairly standard Windows Phone 8 device that will debut on Verizon and likely be priced towards the low-end to help push Microsoft’s mobile efforts, but not much more.
