Neil deGrasse Tyson isn’t falling for ‘Gravity’

In a series of tweets late last night, Neil deGrasse Tyson picked apart Alfonso Cuarón’s sci-fi thriller Gravity. The movie opened last weekend to rave reviews and box office success, and Tyson says he “enjoyed Gravity very much,” but that didn’t stop him from nitpicking some of the film’s scientific inaccuracies. The list of issues is pretty spoiler free, at least in comparison to Time’s fact check that was published a week ago, but if you’ve been painstakingly hiding from spoilers you’ll probably want to stay away from the tweets below. Topics include Sandra Bullock’s hair, the direction of satellite orbits, and some of the movie’s plot conceits.
