Microsoft is updating both the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 in today’s Patch Tuesday round of updates. The Surface 2 appears to be the center of attention for Microsoft, with a host of updates intended to improve Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, and audio. The firmware update will also improve system performance and stability, but perhaps most importantly: battery life.

During our own Verge Battery tests we found that the Surface Pro 2 can outperform the Surface 2 on battery life, and we'll be testing today's updates to see if the situation has improved. Surface Pro 2 gets some minor updates too. A new LifeCam driver will improve the camera functionality, and refreshed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers should improve Miracast performance. Both sets of updates will be available shortly from Windows Update.
