The console wars commence in just over 24 hours, when the PlayStation 4 officially launches in the US. South Park manages to capture the insanity of Black Friday and the upcoming console battle perfectly in this week’s episode. Titled "Black Friday," the episode includes constant references to Game of Thrones in the run-up to the big shopping day of the year.

While there have been plenty of game-related South Park episodes, including the famous Warcraft installment, this latest sees the South Park boys split over fighting Black Friday crowds for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Stan and Kyle share an emotional exchange over the benefits of each console. "Stan, the PS4 doesn't have the seamless transition between games, movies and TV offered by Xbox One," explains Kyle, before Stan promotes the benefits of the PS4 touchpad interface. Cartman concludes the fanboy-like exchange with an insult that would generate a round of comments in any online forum: "Let these Sony f***s wallow in their limited voice-control functionality." Let the games begin.
