As the company promised last month during its photography event, Google has brought full-resolution backup of photos and videos to its iOS app. An update to the Google+ app today adds the much-requested feature, along with an updated design for the notification tray, the ability to share your location with friends, and a feature that translates posts and comments inline. Google already offered one of the most robust free services for photo storage, and now that it can store everything at full size directly from the camera roll on iOS, it’s worth an even closer look. Note, though, that full-sized photos — defined as those where the largest edge is greater than 2,048 pixels — count against the 15GB of free space Google gives users to share across Gmail, Drive, and Google+.
