Simon Pegg has confirmed he will star in comedy sci-fi movie Absolutely Anything with Monty Python members John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam. Pegg will play Neil Clarke, a “disillusioned school teacher” given magical powers by CGI aliens. Those aliens will be voiced by the Python troupe, while Robin Williams plays a talking dog.
Simon Pegg will join Monty Python cast in ‘Absolutely Anything’

Pegg called the Monty Python stars his “heroes,” saying the chance to work with director Terry Jones was “a gift.” In addition to directing, Jones co-wrote the picture with Small Soldiers writer Gavin Scott, and called Pegg “the absolutely perfect Neil.” Although Absolutely Anything isn’t a Monty Python picture by name — and Python member Eric Idle is still missing from the cast — Jones says his farce, which mixes CGI and live action, has Python’s sensibility. Pre-production for the movie will begin on February 2nd next year.
