Cloverfield director Matt Reeves is returning to big-screen blockbusters this summer with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011’s well-received Planet of the Apes prequel starring James Franco. The first trailer for the new installment has just debuted, teasing the impending war between man and ape that’ll likely be at the heart of the film. Andy Serkis, the performance-capture artist behind Gollum, will be reprising his role as the apes’ leader, Caesar, while Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) will be joining in this time around. The film is set for release on July 11th next year.
