On a recent episode of NPR’s How to Do Everything podcast, Sir Patrick Stewart dropped in to give listeners a serious lesson on cow moos. A listener phoned in simply asking how a person might moo in a British accent. Here, Stewart complicates things a bit, playing the part of an expert in cow accents and breaking down moos by location and socioeconomic status. He even moos himself, all to demonstrate the subtle differences between Nevada cows’ voices and the more snooty-sounding cows of West Oxfordshire. The heart of the comedy is the fact that he doesn’t break from character once. We almost wish Ian McKellen were there.
