Apple releases iOS 6.1.2 to fix Exchange calendar bugs, but lockscreen vulnerability remains

Apple has just released iOS 6.1.2 to fix an Exchange calendar syncing bug that ramped up network usage and significantly affected battery life. The over-the-air update is available now. Apple admitted the flaw last week on its support pages and said that a fix would roll out soon; it seems the company has made good on its promises. This isn’t the only bug-related release Apple has had to push out since releasing iOS 6.1 at the end of January — iPhone 4S users experienced connectivity problems that were fixed last week, and iOS 6.1 also introduced a lockscreen vulnerability that let unauthorized users bypass the password to access the phone app and photos. We’re checking now to see if that flaw has been corrected with this latest release.

Update: From our test, it seems that iOS 6.1.2 does not fix the lockscreen vulnerability, despite Apple saying it would remedy the issue in a future software update
