Craig Brittain, who runs the “revenge porn” site Is Anybody Down?, may be doing more than just posting pictures he’s been sent by strangers. According to CBS-4 Denver, someone with the same IP address as Brittain contacted a woman looking for other women on Craigslist, sending nude pictures and asking her to do the same (as well as send some identifying information and a phone number) ahead of a potential meetup. Soon after, the photos appeared on Brittain’s site.

Is Anybody Down? already outstrips similar sites in entrepreneurial awfulness: it links to a supposedly independent site offering to remove photos for $250, but attorney Mark Randazza has found that the site was registered by Brittain himself and that probably fictitious lawyer “David Blade’s” claim to practice in New York was demonstrably false. Though Brittain has said before that he’s simply passing along information — he’s couched his ethical defenses in the language of removing stigma against nudity — this may be an equally transparent lie.
