The US Internal Revenue Service spent some $60,000 of taxpayer money to produce two videos for an IRS training and leadership conference in 2010: One a parody of Gilligan’s Island, the other of Star Trek. After a congressman raised an eyebrow at the use of taxpayer cash, the IRS said that it has “instituted tough new standards for videos to prevent situations” like this insanely bad parody:

“There is no mistaking that this video did not reflect the best stewardship of resources,” the agency told the Associated Press. “A video of this type would not be made today.” Thank goodness.
