Facebook sent out an invite to members of the press to “come see our new home on Android” at an event on April 4th, 2013, stoking age-old rumors that the social network was working on a smartphone. Rumors and leaks cropped up in the days leading up to the event, and those rumors were true. Home is Facebook’s new front-facing home screen replacement that will be available on April 12th for some high-end HTC and Samsung phones, and the HTC First is the first phone to be completely optimized for Facebook Home.
