When Coachella streamed its concerts on YouTube this weekend, iOS users may have been disappointed to discover that the YouTube app didn’t support live broadcasts. Now, Google is adding live event streaming to iOS, albeit a little late. Version 1.3, which just went live on the App Store, includes both that update and a few other changes, though streaming is probably most exciting.

While the Google TV-compatible “send to TV” feature was added in February, this version adds the option to queue videos for it as a kind of TV playlist, bringing it up to speed with the Android version. Likewise, Google is adding access to recently uploaded videos from the left-hand menu bar, and it promises overall performance improvements. YouTube’s iOS app may still often lag behind its Android counterpart, but recent updates are filling the gap between the two.
