Pinterest restores features after redesign backlash

Pinterest scrapped a lot of features in its March redesign, but after backlash from users, the company announced today that it’s bringing many of the old features back, including “via” links and @-mention functionality. Pinterest also announced new features familiar from other sites, like predictive search and a Facebook-style notification scroll in the upper right corner of the site. The changes won’t alter the user experience too much, but they’re a sign of the company’s newfound technical chops, coming just a month after the site’s redesign and backend overhaul. Pinners can opt into the redesign by clicking on the “get it now” button at the top of their feed.
