The BBC is finally supporting Windows Phone today, following its availability on Android, iOS, and BlackBerry. An updated iPlayer site provides the essential support for Windows Phone users to stream on-demand TV content in the UK. The BBC has wrapped its mobile site into an app, available in the Windows Phone Store, but it simply loads the mobile iPlayer and does not provide offline viewing capabilities. The BBC says it’s only supporting Windows Phone 8, due to “platform limitations with Windows Phone 7.5.”
