Crowdfunding site Kickstarter made its first international expansion to the UK last year, and it’s now moving to a second non-US country: Canada. As revealed this morning, Kickstarter will begin accepting Canada-based products “later this summer,” and it’s letting users sign up to be notified when that happens. So far, there aren’t any further details; if it’s like the UK launch, Canadian projects will be listed alongside US-based ones but will show Canadian dollar prices. There could also be other tweaks in store: when Kickstarter moved outside the US for the first time, it started requiring project creators to make international shipping costs clearer and also made it easier to limit some rewards to in-country backers.
