Microsoft is putting an end to Points once and for all today with an Xbox 360 update that converts the digital payment system over to users’ local currencies, reports Polygon. The system update is apparently a small one, with the only noticeable change being the discontinuation of Microsoft Points. Microsoft says that existing Points will be converted into an “equal ... or greater” value of each user’s local currency, including any gift cards that gamers may redeem at a later date. Users will have to spend them by June 1st, 2015, however, when converted Points will expire. The Xbox One will also forgo Microsoft Points for local currencies, finally ending gamers’ frustrations with the convoluted conversion rates that made Microsoft Points difficult to use.
