As it does every year, Berlin hosted the 2013 IFA exhibition at its giant Messe exhibition grounds. This uncompromising mass of concrete and steel evokes memories of a Blade Runner-like retro futurism, but the devices on show had little retro about them. Much was expected before the event, from Sony’s innovative QX lens cameras to LG’s return to Android tablets with the G Pad, and the big tech companies duly delivered.
