Following yesterday’s news that Microsoft will support up to eight controllers on Xbox One, Sony has confirmed that its next-generation console will only support four. It’s a rare miss for the PlayStation 4, which has generally outdone Microsoft spec-for-spec in the lead-up to the consoles’ launch. PlayStation 3 currently supports up to seven controllers, but with the rise of online gaming, very few titles make use of the feature, with titles like FIFA and Bomberman being rare standouts. The news was announced by Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios CEO, on Twitter:
