Syfy has been slowly building up hype for its upcoming series Helix, and with just a week to go before the premiere the network’s not messing around: it’s posted the first 15 minutes of the show online for free. Coming from Ronald D. Moore — the creative mastermind behind the rebooted Battlestar Galactica as well as years of Star Trek: The Next Generation — the show follows a group of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a remote outpost in the Arctic to investigate a possible outbreak. From these first 15 minutes, it’s clear that terrible, terrible things are waiting for them. Helix debuts with a two-hour series premiere on January 10th, but in the meantime you can watch the clip below.
