The second half of Symmetry: A Palindromic Film is exactly the same as the first. Created as a university graduation project by writer and director Yann Pineill, the short film not only plays with symmetrically framed scenes, but is literally symmetrical itself — at the halfway point Symmetry goes into reverse, letting you rewatch everything backwards. This effect doesn’t come off as a gimmick, however, and instead changes the emotional feel dramatically, turning the short into something very hopeful. Check it out below.
