Bloomberg writes that the decision could be attributed to a desire to boost sales of the iPad, which have been in slow decline since its introduction. With the help of this aesthetic update and next year’s rumored introduction of iPads with a 12.9-inch screen, Apple may be able to appeal to a wider range of customers, including the business-oriented demographic.
