Watch the trailer for ‘District 9’ director’s next sci-fi film ‘Chappie’

If you’re a fan of District 9, it’s hard not to be excited about director Neill Blomkamp’s next sci-fi film, Chappie. The movie sounds absolutely insane, with two members of the highly eccentric rap group Die Antwoord playing gangsters who kidnap an intelligent robot, voiced by Sharlto Copley, and program it to do their bidding. The movie’s first trailer has just debuted over at Entertainment Weekly, and what’s interesting is that the film doesn’t actually come off all that wild, instead turning those elements into what appears to be a slightly strange and fascinating world. Chappie is scheduled for a release next year on March 27th.
