This is 2014 according to Facebook

Facebook has published its Year in Review for 2014, reminding us just how much has happened in the last 12 months. In a series of slides, the social network collates the big stories as seen on the platform — the actual posts as they appeared on the site when the events happened (with more animation in the accompanying video). From the World Cup (which “drove more conversation than any other event in Facebook history”) to the Ice Bucket Challenge (more than 17 million videos shared) and Michael Brown / Ferguson. Facebook’s driving point here is that it wants to be the share-centric focal point of discussion — the “newswire,” so to speak.

Not included? 2014’s most shared scientific study about Facebook manipulating emotions — but we didn’t expect it to be.
