Comcast’s TV customers are now able to stream 18 more channels outside their home through the Xfinitiy TV Go app, bringing the app’s total channels to just over 50. The new channels include Syfy, Starz, History, A&E, TBS, TNT, and USA, among others. Comcast originally launched the app for iOS and Android in late November, revamping and rebranding an earlier app that gave TV customers access to on-demand content, but not live channels. With today’s announcement, Comcast is quickly stepping up its offerings in a small arms race between TV providers to give customers access to live shows away from home. No major provider is offering anywhere near their full roster of channels yet, but they’re moving toward rounding up all of the big ones for now.
