Building a tomb for the Chernobyl disaster

It will cost the United States and “about 30 other nations” an astronomical $1.5 billion to erect the Chernobyl arch. The 32,000-ton structure is meant to seal off what remains of the nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986, thereby allowing for the final stages of cleanup.
