Jay Z and Beyoncé run from the law in this over-the-top tour trailer

Ever since Beyoncé unleashed her self-titled album on the world last year by surprise (complete with its full complement of music videos), the stakes have been higher for both Bey and Jay Z to keep delivering content with high production values. So, with their On the Run kicking off next month, the pair released this trailer online to tease the festivities. And it’s appropriately bananas; titled Run, the three-minute short film features everyone from Sean Penn to Don Cheadle and Rashida Jones playing drug lords, cops, and common crooks. Drawing more than a little from the video for ’03 Bonnie & Clyde, there’s plenty of gunplay and stylish action as the self-styled public enemies run from the law. It doesn’t make a lick of sense, but it’s a fun ride.
