Sony’s terrific karaoke series Singstar is making its way to the PlayStation 4 this year, and it’s bringing a secret weapon — your smartphone. The next-gen version of the game will launch alongside a free mobile app, which turns your smartphone into a microphone you can use in-game. Previous versions of Singstar came bundled with big, clunky mics that plugged into your console, but those are no longer necessary. The app will also work with the PS3 version of the game when it launches, and will let you create playlists as well. It’ll be available for both iOS and Android devices. The new version of Singstar is expected to launch later on in 2014.
