Cloverfield’s frantic, hopelessly shaky footage earned the ire of many moviegoers. But what if someone tried to salvage that all of that shaky camerawork? That’s precisely what an unidentified Vimeo uploader has done by pushing the entire 90-minute film through image stabilization software. Among other more minor tweaks, the software analyzes the video and adjusts the size and position of each frame to keep the subjects level. The resulting video is a truly odd, psychedelic trip through the world of Cloverfield. It’s hard to watch any more than a few minutes, but if you’re a fan, be sure to take a look at the image stabilized version of 1999’s Blair Witch Project too.
