Fresh off releasing the Android version of the excellent mobile game Hitman Go, Square Enix has announced a surprise sequel. Whereas Go distilled the Hitman experience into a digital board game about strategy and assassination, the sequel will focus on something different: being a sniper. Appropriately called Hitman: Sniper, Square Enix says the game “focuses on the subtlety of execution,” which based on the first batch of screenshots means careful planning while viewing the world through a sniper scope. The game is being developed by the same team at Square Enix Montreal, but unlike Go the sequel will be a free-to-play experience. It’s coming to “mobile and tablet devices” sometime later this year.
