New ‘The Leftovers’ trailer shows mankind’s institutions grapple with the Rapture

With HBO’s new series The Leftovers set to debut in only a matter of weeks, the latest trailer shows how humanity’s institutions — government, law enforcement, and especially religion — all struggle to grasp the enormity of the Rapture. Set to a melancholy cover of The Sound of Silence, the spot shows that tensions are high not only in the small town where Damon Lindeloff’s series will take place but also on a global level. The Leftovers will premiere on June 29th.
