It may have arrived on Android and iOS first back in May, but Swarm is now getting the Windows Phone treatment. Available in the Windows Phone Store today, Foursquare’s new Swarm check-in app will show you where friends are nearby and let you check into locations. It’s a little different from the traditional Foursquare app, and it drops mayorships, leaderboards, and other game mechanics in favor of pushing people to share their location with friends. The original Foursquare app for Windows Phone isn’t going away, the company is planning an updated version for the fall that will likely be focused on discovery instead of check-ins.
