If Pikachu in Super Smash Bros. isn’t enough for you, there’s good news: a full-fledged Pokémon fighting game is on its way. Called Pokkén Tournament, the game is two-player arcade game slated to launch in 2015. It’s being developed by Bandai Namco and the producers of both the Tekken and Soulcalibur series’ will be working on the project, providing some extra credibility for fighting game fans. Like Pokémon itself, the fighting game will be aimed at a broad audience. “Whether you are a causal player, a regular player or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokémon can have fun,” Tekken chief producer Katsuhiro Harada said at the announcement. Unfortunately, the game has only been announced for Japan — and given the dire state of American arcades, it seems unlikely it will come to the US outside of special events.
